Happy (belated) Autumn!

Happy Autumn! I know I'm a little bit late with this post, I wanted to write at the beginning of October, but as well as the cold and falling leaves that come with this month so do the dreaded bugs and colds. Thankfully we've all recovered, but my poor little man had it the worst.

Anyway, on to nicer topics :) I know in the UK we don't really have the 'fall' decorating tradition like they do in the US, but I've been inspired to create a 'fall mantel' . I think its a lovely way to bring the outside in and makes a lovely decorative feature.
As well as finding inspiration, I have fully enjoyed folding our summer clothes away and getting out our warmer, snuggly knits. This time of year is my favourite. You can't go wrong cuddled up on the sofa with a good book and a hot chocolate!
Which time of year is your favourite?

New Things

Don't get me wrong, the internet/ emails/ social networking are brilliant. Its quick, convenient, and all in one place. Something occurred to me this morning, the only post I receive are bills. Which is a rather depressing realisation.

I have decided to start doing 3 new things a month, for my own happiness as well as hopefully brightening someone else's day, and  also learning something new every month. My first new thing this month is going to be writing letters. On actual paper. With a pen.
Surely I cant be the only person who appreciates receiving a letter from someone who has taken the time to sit and write something nice on nice paper, walked to the post office and popped a stamp onto it before pushing the letter through the little slot on the post box? Maybe people have simply forgotten the joy of receiving a lovely note to read with their morning drink?

Lazy Wednesdays

Lazy Wednesdays

I don't know about you, but Wednesdays always seem to be a problem for me. Its mid week, half way to the weekend, but my energy seems to desert me on a Wednesday!

Anyways, in the spirit of lazy Wednesdays, I decided to make my morning an easy one of my favourite coffee and blog reading, which is when I stumbled across two gems. The first being the lovely girls over at Ruffled Romance (http://ruffledromance.blogspot.co.uk/) . It is mainly a 'what we wear' blog written by two lovely sisters. I'd say their style is 'laid back loveliness'. Sometimes girly, with boots to add that little 'something' to an outfit. The photo's they take are stunning, and also I have serious hair enevy!

Its because of this lovely blog that I found gem number 2, an online shop called Forever21. I noticed that some of Molly and Mac's accessories were tagged from this shop, so I thought I'd have a nosey. I can honestly say this is my new favourite shop. The clothes are exactly my style and I really can't believe how cheap they are! As I was sat drinking my coffee window shopping, the only words that escaped from my mouth were 'ooo' and 'wow'.
Definitely a good way to start my lazy Wednesday.

Which day do you choose to be a lazy day?

'Life Is What Happens When Preparation Meets Opportunity' Seneca

Hi :)
With Autumn creeping up on us (although the weather is lovely at the moment, summer seems to have arrived late this year!),it seemed the perfect time to get Bluebells and Birdies up and going. It will be a 'work in progress' for some time,I'm still learning how to use blogger and code, but I'm excited to be writing and sharing. As well as things that are inspiring me, 'project house' will be making a regular appearance (I will explain more later), as well as my general lazy life in the country.
I hope you have had a lovely weekend
